Abbey is the Open Access and Scholarly Communication Librarian at Iowa State University. In this position, she works to expand access to information by educating scholars about open access, open education, and other topics in scholarly communication.

Curtis Brundy
Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Communication and Collections

Curtis Brundy is the Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Communication and Collections at Iowa State University. He is active in efforts to transform scholarly communications and is especially interested in finding sustainable open models for self-publishing societies and university presses. His work at Iowa State has largely focused on finding ways to shift its traditional subscription collections spend towards supporting open access.

Electronic Resources Librarian

Zach monitors and manages the e-books, online journals, databases, and various other e-resources that are part of the Iowa State University Library’s general collection. He is also involved in the open access workflows for scholarly publishing.

Megan O’Donnell
Research Data Services Lead

Megan oversees the the library's education, training, and support for data management and data sharing while also serving as the manager of DataShare, Iowa State University's open access data repository. Megan is also interested in the intersection and gaps between law and ethics.

Eric Schares
Engineering and Collection Analysis Librarian

Eric Schares is the Engineering & Collection Analysis Librarian at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He works to analyze publishing trends at Iowa State and more broadly to support the open access transition in scholarly publishing. He also serves as liaison to three engineering departments on campus. Eric has published on the use of scholarly metadata, impacts of the 2022 OSTP memo, and making collection development decisions using the tool Unsub.
